“Diaspora – obstacles and possibilities for cooperation and support of BiH development” is the name of the international conference about diaspora which was held in Vogošća, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Human Rights and refugees, BIH.
Organizers of the conference were the Centers for local development and diaspora – CLDD, CLDD International from Sweden and the Association for peace, education and creativity CMOK BiH.
The conference was attended by around 20 participants from BiH associations, individuals, businessmen, and representatives of institutions, such as the Ministry for human rights and refugees, Ministry of Foreign affairs and the Chamber of commerce.
– Our goal is to help the process of establishing better communication between our citizens in diaspora, and to create a better environment for investments from BH citizens, and to circulate money, knowledge and experience together with government institutions, associations and individuals and our citizens in diaspora and their representatives. – said the president of CLDD Šefika Muratagić, for the Fena Agency.
She stated that the diaspora is a very significant resource.
-Around two million of our people live all over the world, and when we take into account the statistical data that yearly around 2 to 3 billion KM come into Bosnia from the diaspora, and that is much more than direct international investments and help to Bosnia and Herzegovina, then we can clearly call that a very significant resource- noted Muratagić.
She added that the conference should contribute to establishing a better environment for citizens in diaspora, who are ready, with cooperation with organizations and institutions in BiH, to promote and support the development of BiH in relevant areas of transition and socio-economic progress in all institutional and social fields.
